Happy 75th Birthday to the Transitor!

The transistor was first demonstrated at Bell Telephone Laboratories in New Jersey on December 23rd, 1947.

Physicists William Shockley, John Bardeen and Walter Brattain were eventually awarded Nobel Prizes for the invention. The original transistor looked nothing like today’s semiconductors and microchips, but the design proved the concept and the innovative applications of this technology changed the world.
